Soul Fuel's Sikke V1 Mod
The first time I saw the Sikke shape, I instantly knew I was going to like it. As soon as I heard and felt the first spike *clack, I hypothesis was pleasantly affirmed.
Soul Fuel’s Sikke mods pull design reference from a kendama, a bilboquet, and pill mod, but boast a rather unique stall point option set on a whole new form factor. The tracking of the hat (tama) is very visually functional when tracking, and has very nice weight distribution when rotating in tricks. The hand grip ergonomics mixed with the overall form ratio enables great control and hold options. Hand turned from Beech wood and manually assembled by hand. Finished off with a beeswax/coconut-oil polish.
“The Sikke is a modern rendition of the classic bilboquet inspired by the Semazen or whirling dervishes of the Mevlevi order in Turkey. Six prototypes later, we got to this final form that draws inspiration from the visual elements of the Semazen as a token of respect and appreciation for the sacred cultural traditions. The design also functions as a highly effective cross training skill toy with a spike, multiple stall features and a base "cup" that unlocks a wide variety of tricks inspired by kendama, begleri and fixed axle yoyoing.
A major part of Soul Fuel's philosophy is to incorporate the inspiration from the traditions of different cultures around the world into our toys, so we're extremely proud to bring you this new beech wood offering that is entirely hand made and player made in India 🙏”
